Touchscreens have for sure revolutionized the consumer electronic market.

IPhone was introduced with the capacitive touch screen feature for the consumer market: multi-touch. All the world knows that Apple invented this technology but in reality, they purchased FingerWorks And assisting them in popularizing it. The multi touch capabilities introduced various new functions than those found in single touch devices. This is the reason why Apple decided to up their prices and use a more expensive capacitive screen. These screens relied on electrical charge of human Skin and could not be used with a normal stylus

Today: Touchscreen Explosion

Apple iPad which was released in 2010 created another market for touchscreen devices. When Steve Jobs released it, he made a speech saying: “What we want to do is we want to put an incredibly great computer in a book that you can carry around with you and learn how to use in 20 minutes … and we really want to do it with a radio link in it so you don’t have to hook up to anything and you’re in communication with all of these larger databases and other computers.”

A wave of tablets from competitors was also created when it was released. IPhone started equipping their portable computers with touchscreens as well and became famous in the marketplace.

Near Future: Flexibility and Durability

When we think of it, we always come up with the thought of coming so far, that we wonder what could possibly come next? However there is another new development right around the corner of flexible cell phone repair. Samsung has been trying this since 2013 and there have been successive rumors over the years about its release. This design can prove out to be great for the smartphones that can get damaged from minor bands. It seems difficult to keep all the different parts of the device when we think of flexible smartphones to be in contact with each other. However, Samsung believes that they will have their fully functional flexible smartphone out soon.

Touchscreen Anywhere:

Various companies have been thinking of limiting touch play to the device only. That is why they are trying to project the touch screen onto any surface and OmniTouch  is the first to attempt this. They are trying to accomplish this with the project that can put the display on walls, tablets, books and even on human skin. It seems crazy but imagine if you answered your text on your smartphone instead of taking out your phone. This technology has not been  developed completely but there are rumors that this will happen anytime soon.

Advanced Haptics

Advanced Haptic technology is something that will make you feel the screen when you touch it. A touch screen with this technology could make you feel different textures as you bump its buttons. This technology was first demonstrated by Tanvas at the Consumer Electronics Show in 2017, featuring different types of fabric. The people who experienced it said that the screen didn’t match really feel like the textures, but they could certainly feel a difference.

Ultrahaptics

Ultra haptics technology was more advanced than the previous one. It demonstrated that ultrasonic sound waves can change air pressure and you can put touch controls anywhere without being limited to a physical surface. The controls are invisible but they can be felt or interacted with. This technology is being developed so that it can be incorporated in cars, that will give the drivers extra control without having the need to look at the screen.
